Message from Eileen Heath:
Thanks for you reply and sharing your tree. It was fascinating looking at it. My mother's mother Alice Maud died when my mother (Nora) was about 1 year old. She was passed around her fathers (Charles King) family until she was eight when he remarried. She never had any contact with her mothers family and she was told that Alice's parents disowned her when she married Charles. (I think that she was pregnant when they married.) All she knew about them was that they had an Iron foundry. My Mother Nora died in 1990. I believe that the first child (Harry) died in his first year. They had another son Lionel and then Nora was born in 1910. I believe that Alice died in 1911 from TB. I also think that she was heavily pregnant when she died and the baby also died.
Mr Charles KING
Charles fought in the Boer War and the first world war. He worked as a miner but in 1927 he moved with his second wife Elizabeth and his son Lionel (by his first wife) and Doreen his daughter by Elizabeth to Southend-on-sea in Essex to work in the Gas works there.
84. Mr Lionel KING
Occupation: Gas Worker.
Passed away following an accident at Southend Gas Works in 1942.
